Having used this gimbal, I can confidently say that I would never switch back to a ball head. The camera remains perfectly positioned, maintaining its direction when released. The movements are incredibly smooth and do not interfere with normal camera operation. The gimbal is sturdy and well-built, effectively minimizing camera shift and vibration. The locking knobs are reliable, ensuring the unit stays securely in place once adjusted.
However, I have two minor concerns with this product. Firstly, the thick grease used results in slightly slower motions, which could be a drawback when tracking fast-moving subjects. Secondly, tightening the rotation lock causes a slight shift in the aim point, though this can be compensated for with practice.
Overall, this gimbal fulfills all my needs and appears to be durable for long-term use. I am very pleased with its performance, especially considering its price point.

In summary, I am highly impressed with this gimbal, especially considering it is my first one. The operation, feel, and quality of assembly are fantastic for the price. I am even thinking about purchasing another one in carbon fiber. I am not a professional photographer, but I enjoy wildlife and outdoor photography. The gimbal works exceptionally well with my Sigma 150-600mm lens, allowing for smooth manipulation with just one finger. The factory lubrication is perfect, providing controlled operation with my camera/lens setup. The only minor issues are the need to mount the lens with a tripod collar and some slight wobbling when the platform locking knob is loosened. However, these do not deter from my overall positive impression of this gimbal. I have even attached an Arca-style plate to quickly mount the gimbal to my Fotopro tripod with a ball head, which works seamlessly even with heavier camera setups.

I have tested it on one outing and found that it works quite well. It moves smoothly and is sturdy. The only drawback is the weight, but the quality/price ratio is very good. I would recommend it.

I purchased the Neewer gimbal mount after reading positive reviews, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations! The delivery was impressively fast – arrived within a day from Amazon and was well-packaged. The gimbal mount was securely packed in foam inside the box, ensuring it arrived in perfect condition. The quality of the mount itself is top-notch, and I am thoroughly impressed. I tested it by mounting it on my tripod with my Canon DSLR and a 150-600mm Tamron lens. Initially, it was a bit slow due to the cold weather, but it quickly warmed up and moved smoothly. It strikes the right balance between speed for tracking sports and birds and resistance for stability. The build is sturdy with no loose joints, making it perfect for larger cameras and lenses. This gimbal mount is a fantastic choice for those wanting to use bigger lenses like the 70-200mm f/2.8 or 150-600mm for extended periods. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would give it 5 stars without hesitation!

Solidly built with good overall quality, but the tightening button on the vertical axis has a slight movement when the lever reaches the end of the tightening range.

Despite being priced low for a gimbal, it performs well with smooth and precise movements. I use it for capturing nature videos with heavy lenses. Flawless.

The gimbal is well-constructed and sturdy, though it can be easily disassembled by those with some mechanical skills. I applied some lithium grease which is effective at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. For even colder temperatures, consider using L10308 biobased lithium grease suitable for temperatures as low as 40 degrees below 0. To ensure smooth operation, adding an extra washer between the upper knob and gimbal is recommended. I found a perfect Teflon ring in my washers for this purpose, resulting in flawless performance. However, the plate may be inadequate for a 200-500 mm lens fully extended as it balances properly only in the last hole. After using the gimbal today, I can confirm that it performs exceptionally well.

I watched YouTube videos that mentioned some issues with the performance of this gimbal, but I can assure you that it works perfectly fine. One important thing to note is that the grease in the joints is very hard and can cause movement issues in cold weather. I solved this by applying a drop of oil to the joints. Be careful not to apply more than one drop as it can loosen too much and affect stability/functionality. Additionally, if you have the budget, consider purchasing the carbon fiber version as the metal one is heavy. These are not drawbacks of the metal version, just a recommendation if you can afford it.
