The kit’s construction is sturdier than other kits in the same price range. The addition of fitted corners on the white diffuser covers for the softboxes is a nice detail. All components worked well right out of the box. The CFL bulbs have a color temperature of 5500K, but the Color Rendering Index is only 80-85, making them appear white until compared to an LED bulb with a CRI of 95 at the same color temperature. Despite this, the kit should serve well for various applications.

The adjustable arms snap into place smoothly, and the socket is made of thick plastic that feels reliable. Considering I paid the same price for these two lights as I did for a Neewer 24×24 softbox back in March 2020, these lights are a great deal.
