This camera offers excellent value for the money! It provides high-quality 4K video, numerous programmable buttons, an articulating screen, and even includes a lens. The only drawback is the lack of a headphone jack, but since I prefer to record audio externally, this isn’t an issue for me. It’s important to note that a fast SD card is necessary for recording 4K video, as slower ones may not be compatible. Overall, this compact camera provides nearly all the features of the GH4 at a much lower cost.

After years without purchasing a camera with interchangeable lenses due to price, weight, and size concerns, I came across the Panasonic Lumix G7. I had considered full-frame cameras but found them to be too expensive. The Micro 4/3 format caught my attention after watching YouTube videos. The G7’s compact size, thanks to the Micro 4/3 format, makes it more portable and lightweight than full-frame cameras. With a 2x crop factor, a 25mm lens on this camera is equivalent to a 50mm lens, and the included 14-42mm lens covers a range of 28-84mm. The affordability and portability of the lenses, in comparison to other brands, make it easy to carry them around. I have purchased two additional lenses and I am satisfied with their performance. The camera offers features comparable to higher-priced models, and I am highly pleased with my purchase. I am considering buying more lenses to experiment with different formats and features. Overall, I highly recommend the Panasonic Lumix G7 and would definitely purchase it again.

    UPDATED 8/17/2015:
I recently received a Panasonic G7 from Amazon and have already taken over 20,000 shots with it over the past seven weeks, using various lenses and primarily the electronic shutter, along with some video tests. Being familiar with Panasonic cameras due to owning the G5, G6, and GH4, and having captured over 125,000 photos with these MFT cameras, I was comfortable with the menu settings adjustments needed to achieve my desired image results. The G7 falls between the compact G5/6 bodies and the larger GH4 in terms of size and weight, providing a good balance. I appreciate the GH4 for its exceptional EVF, comfortable grip, external controls, menu options, image quality, and video capabilities, while the G5 stands out for its compact size, external controls, and image quality but lacks certain features like focus-peaking and an external mic input.
The G7 combines the positive aspects of both the G5/6 and the GH4 at a lower price point, though it lacks weather-sealing and some high-end video options. However, it does offer 4K video recording and “4K-Photo” features. The camera features an excellent EVF, good grip, numerous external controls, and user-friendly menus similar to other models in the lineup. New additions compared to the G5 include 4K-Photo/Video, tone-curve adjustment, and an external mic input. The electronic shutter allows for efficient shooting, providing over 600 JPG frames per battery charge.
Regarding image adjustments, I appreciate the ability to fine-tune various settings on Panasonic MFT cameras to match my preferences. The G7, like its counterparts, offers extensive customization options and accurate previewing through the EVF. While the camera’s design may take some time to get used to, such as the placement of the rear dial, adjustments can be made to suit individual shooting preferences. The camera’s image resolution is slightly smaller than other Panasonic models but does not significantly impact practical use. Additionally, there have been reports of serial number issues, but Panasonic is addressing this concern by honoring warranties with the necessary documentation.
In conclusion, the Panasonic G7 offers excellent performance at a competitive price point, making it a highly recommended option for enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Camera equipment can be quite pricey! I wanted a compact and lightweight beginner camera that still had the appearance of a DSLR without being too costly. This camera fits the bill perfectly! It not only looks fantastic but also delivers good picture quality. I have many positive things to say about it, but what impressed me most was the ability to capture great images even with a non-stabilized lens. While it lacks in-body stabilization, the kit lens performs admirably. The controls are user-friendly and conveniently located. I highly recommend this camera for casual photography.

The Panasonic G7KS is a standout addition to the G series lineup, hitting a perfect balance of power, compactness, and affordability. Despite being classified as a mid-level camera, it competes strongly with higher-end models. Here are the highlights that stood out to me:
    – Image Quality: The 16MP sensor excels in high ISO performance, providing easily editable RAW files for enhanced creative control.
    – Stellar Video: The 4K video feature is impressive, although manual controls for videography are somewhat limited.
    – Superb Handling: The camera’s user-friendly design, reminiscent of earlier models, offers intuitive access to various functions. The grip is notably excellent.
    – Fast and Accurate Focus: Autofocus is quick and reliable, though the choice of lens can impact performance.
However, there are some drawbacks to consider:
    – Mostly Plastic Build: While the camera feels sturdy overall, its construction is predominantly plastic.
    – No In-Body Stabilization (IBIS): Lack of IBIS may be a drawback for some users, but it wasn’t a major concern for me.
    – No Weather Sealing: Given its mid-range positioning, the absence of weather sealing is understandable. However, some competing brands offer this feature at a similar price point.
Considering its price, the Panasonic G7KS offers exceptional value and comes highly recommended. Investing in quality lenses with the savings can significantly enhance image quality. It’s important to manage expectations when upgrading cameras, as the choice of lenses can have a substantial impact on the results.

I recently tried a micro 3/4 camera for the first time. I purchased it primarily for personal projects and managed to snag a great deal on Black Friday. The package included 2 lenses and it’s capable of shooting 4K video! Thus far, I am pleased with its lightweight design and user-friendly operation. I highly recommend this camera!

We all know that quality cameras, whether Reflex or Mirrorless, are expensive. I use the camera for work, as we have a digital marketing agency. I used to use the Canon Rebel T5i, but now we are using the Panasonic Lumix G7.
Key differences between the G7 and the Rebel T5i:
SIZE Winner: Lumix G7 – The G7 is mirrorless, so it is smaller and lighter. It also uses a micro four-thirds sensor, making the lenses more compact compared to Canon’s.
PHOTOGRAPHY QUALITY Winner: Lumix G7 – We use both the Canon T5i and the Lumix G7 for food photography, and we believe the G7 is better than the T5i due to its vibrant colors. The only downside of the G7 is that the photos are 16MB compared to the T5i’s 18MB.
VIDEO QUALITY Winner: Lumix G7 – The G7 records in 4K, making it incomparable to the T5i. In terms of video, the T5i cannot compete with the G7.
EXTRA FEATURES Winner: Lumix G7 – I have yet to fully explore the camera, but so far I have found two very practical functions that the T5i lacks. The first is 4K photo; it allows you to record short video clips and extract high-quality 8MB 4K photos. The other function is timelapse, which can be easily created.
SOFTWARE EASE Winner: Canon T5i – Perhaps because I’m not yet accustomed to the Panasonic system, but I found the Canon system easier to use. However, it’s just a matter of getting used to it.
I believe Reflex cameras are becoming outdated. If you’re buying a camera, I recommend a mirrorless one. And if you’re choosing between the Canon T5i and the Lumix G7, I can confidently say that the Lumix G7 is much better. It offers more functions, and you can record in 4K.

An excellent purchase for sure. The G7 is an impressive all-around camera, with solid image quality, impressive autofocus performance, and 4K (UHD) capability packed into a compact body with easily accessible external controls. The user interface may be a bit tricky to handle, but unlike a Sony camera, it allows for using the rear screen as a touch panel to set the AF point.
=> Good for: Beginners looking for a camera to grow with or DSLR owners seeking a smaller, lighter second camera, especially those interested in video recording.
=> Not so great for: Users seeking simplicity or photographers fixated on absolute image quality.
Honestly, it’s the best mirrorless camera for the price – one of the most intriguing purchases I made for a live video podcast project. I paired it with a battery pack that connects directly to the power source, eliminating the need to switch batteries mid-program. You can also easily find a hack to remove the 30-minute limit for 4K recording on YouTube or Google.

This camera is perfect for both beginners and professionals due to its wide range of options. It may take some time to fully learn its features. Ideal for YouTubers and vloggers, I am delighted to have this camera. I am currently in the process of testing it and will share my thoughts once I have completed the testing phase.
